The 69th religious title conferring ceremony took place in Yangon at Maha Patharna cave of Kabaraye hill.
The Vice-President U Myint Swe also attended the ceremony and conferred the religious titles to the outstanding monks. Obtaining such titles is a great achievement for the monks.
During the 69 years of Tipitakadara Tipitaka kawwida selection examination, only 14 venerable monks accomplished the examination said Union Minister of religious affairs and culture.
Union Minister, Ministry of religious affairs and culture, H.E. Thura U Aung Ko: We hold this examination for the more flourishing and propagation of Buddha Sasana and preserving the pure scriptures taught by the Buddha. Among five religious examinations organized by the Ministry of Religious affairs and Culture, this one is the most difficult longest examination. Our main mission is to propagate the Buddha Sasana at home and abroad.
90 monks received religious titles at this ceremony. The title recipient sayadaws will surely serve for the propagation of Buddhism to be flourished in the country.
Tipitakadhara Title Recipient , Ven. Ashin Kesava: I studied regularly and tried hard so as to receive this title. I passed many other religious exams and this one is the most significant for me. I will try to more flourish and propagate Buddha sasana.
The 69th Tipitakadhara Tipitakakovida Selection Examination had been held Maha Patharna cave of Kabaraye hill at the vicinity of Siri Mangala Kaba Aye Pagoda and the examination took 33 days.
