North Korea's ambassador to Peru said that Lima's decision to expel him was akin to "throwing gasoline on the fire". He also said that Pyongyang's nuclear tests would continue to pursue "without wavering." Peru declared North Korea's ambassador to leave the Andean country within 5 days.

North Korea has faced growing condemnation from around the world following its sixth and largest nuclear test this month. The U.N. Security Council on Monday unanimously voted to boost sanctions on North Korea.
