New Thaketa Bridge: Construction To Complete In 2018 July

Deputy Minister for Construction U Kyaw Lin and Yangon Region Minister for Electricity, Industry and Transportation Daw Nilar Kyaw inspected the New Thaketa Bridge construction. The project officials reported on works underway and plans.

The New Thaketa Bridge construction is implemented with the assistance of the Japanese Government. The project started in 2015 April. The new bridge is over Pazundaung Creek to link Mingalar Taungnyunt Township with Dawbon Township. The bridge is 4-lane extradosed one with 253 meters in length and 20.5 meters in width.

The project is set to complete in 2018 July and the bridge is expected to be commissioned into service in early August. With the help of Japan International Cooperation Agency, JICA, the project intends to improve transportation efficiency in Yangon.
