Myanmar-China Ties: China Wishes To See Myanmar Peace Process More Than Others

Bilateral talks between Myanmar and Bangladesh is important for the northern Rakhine State affair. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi told the media at the Joint Press Conference with Sate Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi in Nay Pyi Taw on Sunday.

China advised on the issue to get ceasefire at the region so as to create good environment.

Myanmar and Bangladesh are willing to negotiate, the Chinese Foreign Minister also added according to his experiences as he also visited and met with the Bangladeshi officials.

As for the question on Myanmar’s ongoing peace process, he replied to MITV that, China wants the success than others.

FOREIGN AFFAIRS MINISTER, THE PEOPLE’S REPUBLIC OF CHINA, H.E. WANG YI said “China and Myanmar are neighbors which mean we both have a same destiny. So we want the peace process successful than other countries. We hope Myanmar government to make negotiations with EAOs with the Panglong spirit.”

State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi also welcomed the advice and shared her thankful for the understanding on Rakhine State issue.

She also mentioned China as a “good neighbor” and stressed that Myanmar is looking forward to corporate with China when it will be benefit for the development of both countries.

STATE COUNSELLOR, REPUBLIC OF THE UNION OF MYANMAR, H.E. AUNG SAN SUU KYI said “Peace, prosperity and development are fundamental things of Myanmar. China corporation is very important in the implementation. When we can focus on the corporation, it will be great effort not only for peace but also for the development of the country.”

Both sides also talked about the “One Belt One Road” initiative during the meeting.
