Mexican car production reached record levels in March rising 36.2 percent from last year whilst exports grew 32.7 percent. The large part of vehicles produced in Mexico is sent to the United States under the North American Free Trade Agreement. New investment in Mexican plants in recent years has injected fresh dynamism into the industry but it now faces an uncertain future given U.S. President Donald Trump's plans to revise the trade agreement. Sales within the Mexican market rose 17.2 percent to 137,012 units. It is an unprecedented number in the third month of the year.
