Indonesian rescuers treat injured passengers after capsized boat leave kill at least 13

A boat capsized and sank off the coast of Makassar city, Indonesia on Wednesday (June 13). At least 13 people died in the accident. A total of 24 people have been rescued so far and admitted to a local hospital. But eight are still missing, said the South Sulawesi Regional Disaster Management Agency. Passengers were on their way home for the Eid al-Fitr holidays. The vessel was allegedly overloaded with 45 passengers onboard, said Indonesia's national search and rescue agency Basarnas. The captain had been detained, the Makassar police chief said.
