Hundreds of homes destroyed by out-of-control California wildfire

6 December 2017

In Ventura, California, a fast-moving wildfire destroyed hundreds of homes and other buildings yesterday. Thousands of residents were forced to flee ahead of the flames. The California Governor declared a state of emergency and freed state funds and resources to assist 1,000 firefighters. The Thomas Fire was the largest of several large blazes that broke out across Southern California following the onset of the Santa Ana winds.
