Holiday Mood: Bus Terminals Crowded With Passengers

Bus Terminals in Yangon are crowded with passengers to spend their vacation on the Thingyan New Year public holiday.

The consecutive holidays are from April 13 to 17 for this year. Due to a lot of numbers of travellers, most of them are facing difficulties in buying bus tickets every year during this time.

Passenger Hein Thura Aung said "I come from Mandalay going for Kawthaung via Yangon. I bought round-trip tickets in advance about 7 days as it is difficult to buy in this period. I am very happy to go back my hometown."

Passenger Ei Thu said "I will go to pay homage to Kyaikthiyoe pagoda with the family. We bought the bus ticket in advance 10 days. The ticket price is normal, but it is difficult to buy tickets before and during Thingyan period. We need to buy in advance and I bought a round-trip ticket."

The bus lines are also arranging to solve such kind of problems and to provide easy access to transportation. Some bus lines are also running during the Thingyan festival.

Manager of Mandalar Minn Express Khaing Khaing Soe said "Our bus line offered with 100 buses almost across the country from Yangon to upper Myanmar and Lower Myanmar as well as southern Myanmar. We sold the tickets with online system and cash payment service system. We just sold normal price and trying effort convenience to the customers. During the Thingyan period, we arranged to run Yangon - Mawlamyine, Yangon-Nay Pyi Taw and Yangon-Mandalay route so as to convenience to the customers. I wish to all travellers be a safe trip."

About 200 express lines are running based in Aung Mingalar Highway Bus Station and it is almost accessed across the country.
