Film Festival: Verity Of Japanese Films Will Be Staged
Aiming to bring Japanese Films to Myanmar, the 13th Annual Japanese Film Festival will be held in Yangon, said at the press conference for Japanese Film Festival in Yangon, Thursday.
The 13th edition of festival will be hosted for the first time in Myanmar. It was organized by Japan Image Council (JAPIC), in coordination with the Japanese Agency of Cultural Affairs and the Embassy of Japan.
The festival is hoped not only to enhance the friendship between the two countries by bringing Japanese films to Myanmar and Myanmar films to Japan but also to promote human interaction and development of Myanmar’s cinema in the near future.
Moreover, a total of 29 Japanese films which comprised of several genres length films, short and animated films of both emerging and established filmmakers will include in the festival.
Director, Japan Image Council (JAPIC), Kadowaki Kenji: As we decided to showcase and introduce a wide variety of Japanese movies that will give audience more realistic picture of Japanese culture through this festival, a unique collection of most preferred Japanese horror, romantic, youth drama, short action films and animations will be screen during the event. This festival is also a great opportunity to watch so many Japanese movies, so I would like to invite all local people to come and enjoy our Japanese culture during the festival.
The Japanese Film Festival will be held for one week at Nay Pyi Taw Cinema from 13th to 19th January.
