Exercise Is Medicine: Fitness Activity Held In Nay Pyi Taw

A sport activity on “Exercise is Medicine” was held at Wunna Theikdhi Stadium in Nay Pyi Taw on Thursday.

It was organized by the Myanmar Women Sports Federation with the support of the Ministry of Health and Sports.

The event aims to spread the message of healthy lifestyle through doing exercise.

Chairperson, Myanmar Women Sports Federation, Khin Lay said “This event aims for the women folk of Myanmar to be healthy and physically strong as well as for the next generation to be interested doing physical exercise. Through this event, people will come to know that they can do exercise at home or outdoor with families and friends.”

This activity was started in Yangon Region as one of the movements of the federation in 2018. And it has been organized in Kayin, Mon, Shan and Kayah States and Sagaing and Mandalay Regions. The event in Nay Pyi Taw is the 8th of this kind.

Vice Chairperson, Myanmar Women Sports Federation, Yi Yi Win said “With the support of the officials, we invite all the departmental staff, and demonstrate exercise to them. If we do exercise regularly, we can prevent from suffering illness. I want to spread this message to all the public.”

The federation plans to organize the similar activity in the remaining regions and states.
