Wider perspective on marketing online was spread among local business operators through the Digital Marketing Summit 2017, in Yangon on Sunday.
The event mainly brought about fundamental facts as well as for sharing experiences, aiming to raise awareness; Dos and Don’ts especially to business players and young people who want to be professional.
It’s learnt that entrepreneurs and business players likely prefer the “Digital Marketing” from tradition one, as of dramatically increasing the usage of Internet users nowadays in Myanmar.
Viber and Facebook stand as the most popular social media with the population of 11 million Facebook users, according to the figures.
Experts consider social media becomes one of the major platforms in digital marketing as of the mass population.
MANAGING DIRECTOR, MYOPENADS, HEIN THET KHIN ZAW said “Facebook is one of the most popular social media in here. So when we say about digital marketing, people think about Facebook only. But we have much more channels like youtube, mobile app network. However most of the businesses here mostly focus on social media advertising.”
HEAD OF ONLINE MARKETING, TELENOR MYANMAR, THU YEIN AUNG said “Most of internet users use Facebook. So if your business means to focus on Internet users, Facebook would be the tool for marketing. However it should be considered based on the target audience, such as Google or instagram etc. I would like to say that objective have to be made sure for digital marketing.”
Myanmar has 25% of Internet user penetration; or about 14 million populations, according to the Internet World Stats.
