The state counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi attended the opening ceremony of “Forum on Myanmar’s Democratic Transition” held in Myanmar Convention Center-2 Nay Pyi Taw on Friday. The forum is organized by Myanmar’s Ministry of Information with support from a host of global and local partners. At the occasion, the state counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi gave an inaugural speech on Myanmar Democratic Transition.
Next, the union minister for the ministry of information, Dr. Pe Myint clarified the agendas, arrangements, objectives and expectations of the forum. After the state counsellor and participants of the forum posed the documentary group photo and the opening ceremony was concluded. Over 30 speakers from local and abroad will participate in the forum. Among the speakers, the ambassadors from India, Norway, Singapore and other diplomats, UN functionaries and leading academics specializing on Myanmar.
More than 500 participants will also seek out views from a cross-section. Also present on the occasion were the union ministers, Hluttaw representatives, senior Tatmadaw officials, veteran civil servants, Myanmar entrepreneurs, responsible persons of civil society organizations, ambassadors to Myanmar and international participants. Forum on Myanmar Democratic Transition will take place for 3 days from 11th to 13th August.
