Chinese, S Korean presidents meet on ties, peninsula situation

Chinese President Xi Jinping met with South Korean President Moon Jae-in on the sidelines of APEC meeting yesterday. The two leaders compared notes on bilateral ties and the Korean Peninsula situation. Xi told Moon that China sincerely hopes for the best for the peninsula.

It encourages South Korea to resume contact and dialogue with DPRK and restart cooperation for reconciliation. South Korea also supports the Belt and Road Initiative and is willing to actively participate in its implementation, Moon said.
